The 1st annual Truck It 5K/10K will take place at the Stadium Green located at the southeast corner of Soldier Field.
Both the 5K and 10K will start at 6:30pm. The course starts and finishes on the lakefront path just south of Waldron and heads south along the lakefront running past McCormick Place, the Fireman’s Memorial, the new 31st Marina.
The course is out and back with beautiful views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago Skyline.
If not a runner you are welcome to walk any distance that is comfortable. If walking less than a 5K or 10K please don’t wear the timing chip so results are not affected.
Truck It 5K/10K is a full evening of entertainment. Live music will greet participants when they return to the Stadium Green. Enjoy a complimentary beer and then pick from a wide selection of food being offered by the best local food trucks. Food and beer will be available for purchase throughout the evening to participants and their guests.
Each registered participant will receive a long sleeve quarter zip pullover. This comfortable lightweight pullover is perfect for cool evenings or wear with a shirt underneath in cold weather. Perfect for running or just hanging out.
Event details and schedule
The top male and female finisher in both races will receive an award.
The top 3 men and women in each age group will receive an award.
Age groups: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+.
The team with the most registered participants will receive an award and their own team tent that will have their packets inside and waiting for them. To be eligible for largest team award your team must be registered by June 22.
We will also award the fastest team in the 5K and 10K. Register your team at the registration tent prior to the start of the race. The top 3 finishers for each team will determine the fastest team.
Race is limited to the first 1000 registrations.
Packet pickup is at the Stadium Green on June 25 starting at 4:30pm. Registration will also be available on race day if limit is not reached.
There will be an area to check bags or any personal itesms.
Parking is at the Waldron ramp located on the south side of Soldier Field. Exit Lake Shore Drive at 18th street and drive east to parking ramp entrance. Parking is $20/car so the more people you put in the car the better. We recommend carpooling.
